Memorigin is Hong Kong 's first tourbillon brand and is created by a youngster William Shum. The brand is created last year with the merge of Eastern and Western Art and unique word carving technique. Memorigin stresses on Hong Kong design and in house movement production, at the same time keeping increasing the quality to price ratio. Within one year 's time over 3000 tourbillons are sold and brand images expanding up to Japan, US, South East Asia and Europe. Watches have been revolving around William 's family since he was born. His father collects a lot of woodcarving antiques. Becuase of this kind of environment, he always wishes to create a brand with the merge of Eastern and Western Art. After he finished his thesis in Cornell University about the watch factory, he decides to merge the woodcarving antiques with the tourbillon 's techniques. His family 's factory has been exporting movements all over the world for more than 40 years. The factory has gotten the best equipments and the watch masters have been trained in Europe for many years.

William said, "When I start this idea of crossover, I receive some opposition from the factory. They are traditional and the idea of creativity is too fresh to some of the engineers. Fortunately that after the first trial, the response is very positive and the concept of "thinking outside the box" gradually inspires our workers. Today, we are very happy to get into the Japan market. We are evaluated as an A grade watch by an authorative watch magazine in Japan. The big hit in Japan once again proves our correct decision of creativity design and marketing."

Memorigin 's success took a long path to accomplish. "Whenever we have new production, we will first let the top designers and collectors to have a look and comments. Then after 20-30 drafts we will finally confirm the design and make the final production. At the same time, the idea of crossover with antiques successfully grabbed Hong Kong Media 's attention. Thank you for their broadcast, MEMORIGIN emerges into the market in a short period of time."

The main reason why MEMORIGIN is so popular in a short period of time is because of the tourbillons' designs and quality to price ratio. They have the essence of Eastern and Western art, the character of a high end watch brand and a good marketing scheme. The wordcarving techniques also make them to be very unique based on different customers' requirements and also applicable for association or corporate gifts.
